Job Description

As a Paraplanner, you will support financial advisers by preparing Statements of Advice (SOAs), conducting research, and analyzing financial strategies. You’ll ensure compliance, accuracy, and efficiency while helping create customized client solutions across investment, retirement, and insurance planning.

The Qualifications We Seek

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field
• Minimum 4 years’ experience as a paraplanner in financial services
• Proven ability to prepare both standard and complex SOAs efficiently and accurately
• Strong knowledge of financial planning concepts, superannuation, insurance, investment products, and retirement planning
• Experience with HUB24, Netwealth, and insurer platforms highly regarded
• Proficiency in financial planning software such as Xplan, Worksorted, or Fin365
• Advanced MS Excel skills for modelling, analysis, and reporting
• Experience with CRM systems essential
• Salesforce experience highly regarded but not essential
• High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial data and client goals
• Strong understanding of compliance and regulatory frameworks related to financial advice

Your Daily Tasks

• Assist financial advisers in the preparation and delivery of comprehensive financial plans, including investment, retirement, insurance, and estate planning strategies
• Prepare and deliver Statements of Advice (SOAs) and Records of Advice (ROAs), including complex multi-strategy cases
• Liaise effectively with advisers and key staff members to gather and verify client information and documentation
• Conduct thorough research and analysis of financial products, platforms, and strategies to support recommendations
• Complete application forms for superannuation, insurance, and investment products accurately
• Maintain accurate client records and ensure information is current in CRM systems
• Assist in portfolio reviews, performance reporting, and preparing professional presentation materials for client meetings
• Monitor regulatory changes and market trends to ensure strategies remain compliant and relevant
